A message from Matt

Sunday we celebrated two things. First we celebrated the day known on the first century Jewish calendar as Pentecost. Pentecost was a feast day celebrated 50 days after the Passover Sabbath. Pentecost is also the day that God launch His church. Secondly, Sunday was Memorial Day Sunday, a day set aside each year to remember and honor those men and women who have served our country, many of who gave the ultimate sacrifice. There was a lot of red, white and blue in the audience.
For those who might be interested, May was a very good month statistically. Our average attendance for the month was 485. Last year’s May average was 341. In addition we exceeded our budget needs for the month. That is always encouraging going into the summer months. Thank you all for your faithful generosity.
I announced Sunday that we are launching the process of freshening up the foyer. Our building will be six years old on September 10 and, we are experiencing the normal wear and tear you would expect. Over the past couple of years we have repaired some of the mechanical systems and brought our technology up to date.
I think it will be good to give our foyer an updated look. So, over the next few weeks you will discover some changes; some different colors, some different furniture, maybe different placement of furniture. Our plan is to experiment with different looks. Our goal is to make this space better for all of us and welcoming to guests. Thanks in advance for your patience.

This summer, New Life Women will host two day-long events. The first event, Pursuing Christ Together in Truth, will occur on Saturday, June 17. The second will take place on Saturday, August 19, and sandwiched in between will be our summer edition of Mug & Muffins on Saturday, July 15. Today is a perfect time to write Save The Date on your calendar for those days! The planning for all three events is well underway, and you aren’t going to want to miss any of the excitement and action!
Our first summer event will happen just one month from now. Tickets go on sale this Sunday at the Activities Counter. The tickets are $20 each, and we do have scholarships available! On Saturday, June 17, the doors open at 9:00 a.m. for coffee and nibbles. This Bible teaching event begins at 10:00 a.m. via simulcast (video) as we will hear from four national Bible teachers that day.
We have a team of 13 New Life women pray-ing and working to make this a stellar day for you!
Our time together will include coffee and conversation before the event, lunch, and door prizes! This is a great time to invite friends, neighbors, and family to join you. It will be a lovely day spent with your New Life sisters-in-Christ in fellowship, learning, food, and fun!

Finding New Life Christian Church at this point in our life has been nothing short of a miracle and a blessing! When we moved to Florida in 2020, finding a “church home” was our priority, yet COVID stopped us before we even started. I believe it was during that time of “home church” the Lord really showed us our need for community and His desire for us to be in community. There is absolutely nothing like stepping out of the car on Sunday morn-ing and seeing our greeters opening doors, hugging, laughing, and greeting those coming into New Life. To me, this is a beautiful picture of the people of God, fellowshipping, and worshiping God, in the presence of God!
On June 17, the women of New Life will gather for an event titled Pursuing Christ Together in Truth. This day-long conference is a partnership of NLCC and Lifeway. By video simulcast, the conference highlights four teaching sessions by national Bible teachers Jennifer Rothschild, Jada Edwards, Elizabeth Woodson, and Kristi McLelland. Our prayer chairperson, Jean Whipple, is part of the 13 New Life women organizing this event. At a recent team meeting, Jean asked that we all make prayer for this conference a priority by praying specifically for each woman
God will bring to hear His Word that day. As part of our congregation, will you join the women of New Life in praying over this conference?

A few weeks ago, we launched Blessings by the Spoonful! New Life women have been busy preparing and delivering meals to some of our members who are needed comforted, just returning home from the hospital, and our own Buddy Acton who was in the hospital and rehab for 16-weeks! Now we need YOUR help!
(1) If you know of a member or members who will be blessed by a delivered meal, please email me or call me.
(2) If you want to be on the call list to prepare, or deliver, or pay for a meal to bless someone else, please email me or sign up at the Activities Center!2. You can notify me when you know of anyone who will be blessed by a meal. You may consider someone who has just come home from the hospital, or someone who has suffered a recent loss, or maybe even someone who has received a tough diagnosis and may just need some comfort food!
3. And you can prepare food and take it to those in need. You can also buddy up with a friend and together prepare a meal to delivery to those in need! It has been suggested that we have groups of four to make it easy to provide a whole meal with each person providing one item – a main dish, salad, vegetable, and dessert!
If you would like to be on our call list to prepare a meal from time to time, please let me know by email or signing up at the Activities Counter.
