A message from Matt

WOW! What a great way to close out an incredible month of January. I was looking forward to having the choir and orchestra leading us in worship and I wasn’t disappointed. Jack Turner who has been a guest soloist here many times joined them in a special number, “This Is How It Feels To Be Free.” What a great message. Then, Margaret Banton who is relatively new here, shared a medley of songs on her alto saxophone. Thanks to everyone who made worship what it was. If you weren’t here, I hope you will watch the recording of the service on our website.

It is always great being here on Sunday. We had a wonderful time of worship with Rick Melvern, and I always enjoy leading you as we worship together.

David Jeremiah says worship involves four things.
  1. It is a response to the obedience to God.
  2. Worship shows reverent submission to God.
  3. Worship is the result of the death of Christ.
  4. Worship is a reflection of your life.

This is our goal each and every week as the worship ministry leads. We would love for you to come join us if God has put that calling on your life.

This banner is from the new women's ministry newsletter we launched this week. The monthly newsletter will arrive via email to each New Life woman around the 15th of each month. My heart behind the newsletter is to use whatever tools I can to stay connected with the church's women.

One hundred and thirty women gathered in the Fellowship Center last Saturday for the Women’s Ministry Teatime with Katie tea party! Teapots and teacups, saucers and platters, flowers and can-dles, and lovely tablescapes filled the center. Twenty-one women hosted the 16 tables reflecting a wide range of personalities and finery. Assorted tea, coffee, tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, fruit cups, and miniature Bundt cakes dotted each table. A team of nine New Life women put together the event which included a welcome by Catherine Daugherty and short film by Kathy Lee Gifford, titled, The God Who Sees. Lo-cal Villager, Ruth Leininger, presented the program portraying Martin Luther’s wife, Katherina von Bora, whom Dr. Luther called, “Katie.”

Holy Land Update: if everything went as planned, we are now in Israel after flying all night from the US. We should be over-looking the Mediterranean Sea from our hotel rooms as tomor-row we will be journeying to Caesarea by the Sea, Mount Car-mel and Megiddo. Thank you for your prayers as we walk where Jesus walked.

THANK YOU so much for your response to the love offering for the staff! If you would like to participate, please mark your contribution as “staff gift” and place in the offering baskets or mail to the church office. New Life is so blessed and thankful to have such a wonderful ministry staff. The addition of Gary and Catherine has really made our ministries thrive! Mike and Amy have taken our music program and worship to new levels! The Christmas Program was over the top again this year! Thank you for being such loving and gracious host to our community. Everyone I spoke with mentioned how friendly and loving our church is. We really appreciate everyone sharing their gifts and visions that makes New Life Christian Church the friendly, loving, and growing church that it is. Thank you for your support! Please call on us if you have a need. Remember, we are here for you!
