NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER 5.1.25

“Pray fervently in righteousness and avail much.” – James 5:16

1. Pray for the Nation

• Scripture: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” – Psalm 33:12
• Prayer Focus: Ask God to pour out His mercy and grace over America, drawing hearts back to Him.
• Prayer: Lord, we lift up our nation to You. Heal the divisions and restore unity under Your truth. Guide our leaders and citizens to honor You in word and deed. Let revival sweep across this land so that Your name may be glorified.

2. Pray for Government and Leaders

• Scripture: “I urge... that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made... for kings and all those in authority.” – 1 Timothy 2:1-2
• Prayer Focus: Pray for wisdom, integrity, and courage for all elected officials and government leaders.
• Prayer: God, grant our President, Congress, governors, mayors, and all public servants divine wisdom. Protect them and help them lead with righteousness. May their decisions reflect justice and truth, and may they seek Your counsel in all they do.

3. Pray for Families

• Scripture: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15
• Prayer Focus: Pray for God’s design for marriage and family to be restored and upheld.
• Prayer: Lord, bless and protect every family. Strengthen marriages, heal broken relationships, and draw children and parents together in love and faith. May homes be places of peace, prayer, and Your presence.

4. Pray for the Church

• Scripture: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray... I will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
• Prayer Focus: Pray for revival in the Church and boldness to stand as light in darkness.
• Prayer: Father, awaken Your Church. Revive our hearts and renew our commitment to the Great Commission. Help us to live holy lives, to love boldly, and to stand on truth. Unite pastors and believers across denominations to seek Your kingdom first.

5. Pray for Education

• Scripture: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
• Prayer Focus: Pray for students, teachers, school boards, and all who shape education in our nation.
• Prayer: Lord, we pray for Your wisdom and protection over our schools. Strengthen teachers and administrators with discernment and grace. Let truth be taught and character be formed. Guard the minds and hearts of students and give them a hunger for righteousness.

6. Pray for the Military, Law Enforcement & First Responders

• Scripture: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13
• Prayer Focus: Pray for protection, strength, and encouragement for those who serve and protect.
• Prayer: God, we thank You for those who serve in our military, police, and emergency services. Cover them with Your protection and peace. Give them courage in the face of danger and wisdom in every situation. Bless their families and meet every need.

7. Pray for the Marketplace and Media

• Scripture: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
• Prayer Focus: Pray for truth, integrity, and God-honoring influence in business and media.
• Prayer: Father, we ask for Your hand on our workplaces, businesses, and media outlets. Let godly values rise and falsehood be exposed. Use Christians in these spaces as salt and light. May every industry reflect excellence, compassion, and justice.

Closing Prayer:

Lord, unite our hearts in prayer on this National Day of Prayer. We confess our need for You. Pour out Your Spirit upon us. Heal our land, renew our faith, and let Your glory be known across America. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
